Is it cheaper to hire movers or Do it Yourself? Is a question that comes up a lot. There’s not one clear answer. Every situation is different. Some people have injuries. “I don’t feel like moving all this stuff. And my husband has lower back problems.”

The Cost of Hiring A Mover
So is it cheaper to hire a mover or do it yourself? It depends. Shorter moves(in town, a few cities over) would be cheaper to do it yourself. Rent a uhaul, load everything up, unload, then pay a minimal amount for gas when you’re done.
Longer moves is where it can get tricky. Suppose you’re moving out of state. Are you making one trip? Do you have expensive items that you need professionally wrapped? Do you consider time money?
In general, yes, doing a move yourself is cheaper. However, a lot of people choose the help because it is easier.
